Westend Boulders
urbanclimblogo.png
This beautiful heritage building in Brisbane perfectly suited the natural wood boulder field design. This gym is inspired by my travels through boulder locations in Europe, and the feeling of discovery wandering around the forest. One of the boulders is also based on a 3D scan I made of the iconic La Fuente boulder in Albarracin. For this project I completed both the design and the panel construction information for CNC, to the bespoke client requirements.

Opened: 2021

Type: Bouldering Gym

Size: 1000 sqm of surface

Location: Brisbane, Australia.

Construction: Urban Climb

Panel Construction Information: Tectonica Design Lab

TESTIMONIAL

"Michelle isn't prescriptive, in each and every project she seeks to understand the area, the community and other elements that we hold in high importance before commencing design. As a result, in addition to smart, safe wall design, the final form is always  supported or reflective of our community, higher themes or important local stories. "
